With over ten years of experience helping families, Tom Burruel has made it his personal mission to better reach those in crisis.  His diverse background in social work, mental health, addiction treatment and intervention, speaks to his inner drive and compassion.  Tom is currently the CEO of Intervention 180.  A company he co-founded with his partner Ben Seymour.  When asked what motivated him to start Intervention 180 Tom stated, "I wanted to continue helping people on a larger scale".  Tom still takes the time to perform Interventions himself despite the demands of running Intervention 180.

His years of experience started with the Department of Health and Welfare Child Protection.  As a case manager and investigator, Tom became well acquainted with the destruction and devastation addiction causes.  Tom went on to work as a behavioral therapist helping families and individuals.  From there, he served as a social worker, performing crisis intervention in an emergency room.  For the past several years Tom’s focus has shifted to addiction treatment and turning lives around through intervention.

Testimonials of Tom's expertise and caring always involve reference to his "commanding presence" and ability to "exude calm" while in the midst of chaos.  Tom’s influence is reflected in Intervention 180 and the work they do with families across the nation.  Tom and Ben both comment on how Intervention 180 contributes a "fresh" style to the field of intervention by blending several methods to create the "Intervention 180 Approach".

Tom holds his Masters Degree in Social Work from Northwest Nazarene University.  He has served in international relief efforts and has donated his time public speaking at camps for teens in the Pacific Northwest.  Aside from his professional and educational background, Tom sites being raised by a mother who struggled with addiction and his personal use and abuse as his foundation to reach the families he serves.
